The stairs in this property had an open side which made it dangerous. The usual solution would be to install a bannister, spindles and handrail but the cost to do this would be extortionate. Our solution was to make a feature of the room and turn an ugly open staircase into something that looked good. When we finished the joinery work we also primed and painted the timber to fit in with the room. We then fitted a stainless steel handrail to increase the safety. The best part of this is you could have altered the effect of the room with grey slats, more colour, multiple colours or a specific timber to add more of a quality look at a fraction of the cost of a normal joinery solution.
