These newly painted walls just wouldn't stop flaking.
The walls in this property had recently been painted but no matter what they did the paint just kept flaking and peeling off. At first, they thought it was water penetration, but the actual cause was probably the initial preparation of the wall. The preparation step is more important than the actual painting and will define the quality of the end result. This applies to walls, ceilings and woodwork. In this case, we suspect the wallpaper had been removed and some paste hadn't been. The barrier of paste was stopping the paint from setting fully onto a surface. We sanded the wall back to the plaster, used Zinseer primer (just in case) then applied 2nr coats of matching grey paint.
